News report on Cromley:

“Allan Cromley was the Washington-based reporter for The Oklahoman and the Oklahoma City Times. He was riding in a press bus a dozen cars behind the presidential limousine. He was struck by the gravity of the situation when reporters arrived at Parkland Hospital, and he walked past the limo that carried the president. Rose petals and blood splattered the car seats. The roses were carried by the first lady on the drive through Dallas.  “I’ll never forget that sight,” he said.”
